Why we started

Why We Started MyTyne

Dan and Lisa are husband and wife — parents to Abbie and Alfie — and weekends around the North East usually mean the same search: parks, cafés, walks, local events and somewhere that works for young children.

Every weekend we found ourselves asking the same questions.

What's on today?
Where can we walk?
Is there somewhere good for young children?
Where do we park?
Is there a café?
Is it dog friendly?

We realised thousands of families were asking exactly the same questions — and the answers were scattered across hundreds of websites and Facebook groups.

So we started building MyTyne — one trusted place that simply answers local questions.
